Burial Or Cremation?

It’s on the verge of becoming funny now…

It brightens my day when a home run in the bottom of the ninth means jack squat.
Sayonara season.

Side Notes:

– The Yankees’ last words: “It’s not the end of the world.” [Actually said by Joe G.]

– I’ve devised a new nickname for Girardi: Mr. Sugarcoat.

Giambi does have a knack for smacking that homer when the Yanks need the long ball, but I think they spend too much on him to have him just off the bench.
I would definitely prefer to have him to bat in the late innings rather than Pudge or worse, Betemit, but I don’t think that’ll ever happen. He is expensive and would probably catch a hissy fit if he’s not in the starting lineup anymore [which I don’t get b/c being a pinch hitter, you don’t have to be in all game, you get to be the hero if you come through, and you’re still paid millions, but w/e].

Well, the Yanks live another day, thanks to (gulp) Pavano. Of course the Red Sox won and we’re still treading water, but this one wasn’t painful to watch. Now if Rasner could only pitch six shutout innings tomorrow and we score a bunch of runs and don’t have to use Mo….life would be beautiful or at least better.
